A bigger vision of redemption

The Christian story is more than an account of individual guilt and forgiveness. It is the story of God entering a creation held in bondage and overcoming the powers that have distorted its life. Christus Victor means “Christ the Victor.” This book revisits that understanding of redemption, placing the person and work of Jesus at the center of the whole biblical story.

The cross is not separated from resurrection, ascension, or the gift of the Spirit. Together, they reveal the movement of God’s saving purpose: evil confronted, captivity broken, and humanity brought into the life of Christ. The question is not whether we can make His work sufficient, but how we come to understand and participate in what He has accomplished.

Throughout this exploration, Jesus is the lens through which the Father is known. His compassion, His liberating ministry, and His self-giving love are not exceptions to God’s character.
